The reason WHY to come to do business and live in Dubai:
On 13 March 2021 Dubai launched its 2040 Urban Master Plan. It aims to make Dubai the world’s best city to live.
With its population set to increase to 5.8 million by 2040 from its current 3.3 million in 2020, Dubai laid down the groundwork for how the city can grow sustainably over the next 20 years.
The Dubai Urban Master Plan is focused on sustainable development of five main urban centres – three existing and two new ones. The existing include (i) Deira and Bur Dubai, historic areas representing the emirate’s rich heritage, (ii) Downtown and Business Bay, the financial and business heart of the city, and (iii) Dubai Marina and JBR, a hospitality and leisure hub.
The two new centres include (i) Expo 2020 Centre, a tourism, logistics and exhibitions place and (ii) Dubai Silicon Oasis Centre, a technology, science and knowledge hotspot.
The people-centric plan is set to dramatically increase economic and recreational activities and focuses on reinforcing Dubai’s competitiveness as a global destination for innovative start-ups, international corporations, and strategic investments.
On the other hand, it has also an ambition to create the best possible quality of life and conditions for continuous prosperity for its citizens, residents and visitors. Recreational spaces and green areas dedicated to public parks will double in size and nature reserves and rural natural areas will constitute 60 percent of the emirate’s total area.
The plan anticipates that the length of public beaches will grow by 400 percent over next 20 years. The land area used for hotels, tourism and hospitality will rise by 134 percent, while the land used for commercial activities will increase to 168 square km. Areas for educational and health facilities will be increased by 25 percent.
